PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ATHLETES NOT REGISTERED IN ITALY
Italian/foreign athletes who are not registered in Italy may participate, limited to persons aged 20 years and over, if in possession of one of the following requirements:
- Athletes with a club card affiliated with the Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by the IAAF. As an alternative, at the time of registration, they will have to present:
- Self-certification of possession of a card recognized by the IAAF. The self-certification will then, however, be signed in original when retrieving your number bib.
In order to participate you will also need to present a valid medical certificate of fitness suitable for athletics, the original of which must be presented to the organizers. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in your country of provenance using the facsimile available here
All you need to do is to follow these simple steps in order to experience, for a whole year, your passion for racing in one of the most beautiful Countries in the world.
RunCard breaks down borders, thanks to the race and runners.
The staff of RunCard together with the Italian Athletics Federation welcomes you in Italy.
As from the 20th of September 2020, medical certificates for foreigners in Italian marathons and half marathons are no longer required.
Foreign athletes can finally participate in international marathons and half marathons, without having to obligatorily present a medical certificate. From now on they’ll simply sign a liability waiver.
The Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) has amended a regulation which, until now, required organizers to only accept medical certificates that conformed to the Italian legal system.
This is a really important turning point settled thanks to the intense and favorable cooperation between the Italian Athletics Federation and the event organizers.
Finally, all Italian sports events of international level will have the opportunity to welcome all those foreign citizens, with tourist-sporting goals, who had always run elsewhere due to the Italian bureaucratic difficulties.
The participation regulations for foreign athletes registered for sports clubs affiliated to foreign federations remain unchanged.
If you prefer to take part in the agonistic race (or competitive race), and have the chance to compete for a prize and be included in the FIDAL/IAAF ranking list you have to:
- hold membership of a foreign Sports Federation affiliated with IAAF and in this case you have to provide Napoli Running with a copy of the association license or a self declaration in which you declare that you are affiliated with a sports club;
- get the FIDAL Runcard and provide Napoli Running with a copy of the medical certification which allows you to take part in competitive races according to the Italian law.
If you run with tourist-sporting goals in the not agonistic race (or non competitive race) it will be enough to register online and then sign and upload the Sorrento Positano 54 and 27km and the Napoli City Half Marathon liability waiver form.
